Summer Meals for Kids in Need
A group fundraising campaign for Foodlink.
About This Campaign
One in five kids in our region are food insecure.
Foodlink works hard to make sure no child has to go hungry during summer vacation. With your support, we partner with community organizations to provide daily summer meals to children in need.
Children enjoy their meal at one of 53 sites serving Foodlink's summer meals. We go above and beyond national standards to provide healthy, well-balanced meals like Zingy Chicken Fajita Wraps, Egg-cellent Egg Salads, or Roasted Turkey Sandwiches. Meals are often accompanied by a bag of New York State apples sliced right here at Foodlink.
We believe that food is more than sustenance. It not only fills stomachs, it empowers young minds. In the words of Jason, an emergency food pantry manager in the Rochester City School District; “So many students have to worry about ‘adult’ problems that aren’t of their own making. Food allows them to do what they should be doing – learning, playing, and growing.”
That’s why increasing our efforts is so important in the summer when food is scarce for so many of our children, and why your summer commitment matters so much.
Your gift makes a difference. Thank you for partnering with us to build a community where all people have what they need to lead healthy lives.

Campaign to Support Foodlink
Foodlink is the Feeding America food bank serving Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties. For more than 40 years, we have leveraged the power of food to end hunger and build healthier communities. Through good stewardship, innovation and collaboration, Foodlink mobilizes a diverse network of community partners to eradicate both the symptoms and root causes of hunger. Foodlink’s community health programs provide new access points to nutritious and affordable food in under served communities. We empower individuals and families to make healthy choices through nutrition education initiatives. Our food banking operations distribute millions of pounds of food to a network of nonprofit members. The Foodlink Community Kitchen nourishes thousands of children daily with healthy meals, slices locally grown apples, and prepares people for culinary careers through a one-of-a-kind career empowerment program. Learn more about how we are transforming lives and creating healthy futures for every community we serve at www.foodlinkny.org, or follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram at @foodlinkny.
