November Thanksgiving Campaign

November Thanksgiving Campaign

About This Campaign

There is nothing more central to human relationships than the sharing of food. Food unites us for gatherings both big and small. It spurs conversation around a kitchen table, a diner or a park bench. It brings us together and fosters community. Food connects us all.

At Foodlink, we witness this daily through our work to end hunger and build healthier communities. Without access to nourishing food, no one can reach their true potential.

Imagine what that means for the 145,000 people – including nearly 50,000 children – in our region who live in food-insecure households, with limited or uncertain access to food. A single mom may skip meals because of a utility bill, costly medication for a loved one, or simply to fill up her gas tank to get to work. A teenage boy might be the brightest in his class, but the fact that he skips dinner most nights makes him unable to concentrate at school in the morning. Imagine the long-term impact on their health and education – and their connection to others.

As a friend of Foodlink, you realize that all who benefit from Foodlink’s programs and services have the same right to food as the rest of us; that they can only be their best when their most basic needs are met. You share our belief that everyone deserves a seat at the table.

As Thanksgiving nears and we prepare for our own holiday meals, I ask that you consider making a donation to Foodlink that helps others do the same. We pledge to steward your dollars efficiently and compassionately, by continuing to provide healthy food and programs that empower all those we serve.

Thank you for your support, and for making space at the table for all.

Campaign to Support Foodlink

Foodlink is the Feeding America food bank serving Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties. For more than 40 years, we have leveraged the power of food to end hunger and build healthier communities. Through good stewardship, innovation and collaboration, Foodlink mobilizes a diverse network of community partners to eradicate both the symptoms and root causes of hunger. Foodlink’s community health programs provide new access points to nutritious and affordable food in under served communities. We empower individuals and families to make healthy choices through nutrition education initiatives. Our food banking operations distribute millions of pounds of food to a network of nonprofit members. The Foodlink Community Kitchen nourishes thousands of children daily with healthy meals, slices locally grown apples, and prepares people for culinary careers through a one-of-a-kind career empowerment program.
