SHARING THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

Firstly, we’d like to wish you all Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

This Holidays season we decided we wanted to do something different. We wanted to be able to share the Holiday spirit by giving back to our local community right here in Rochester! We work year round with people from our community and are well aware of problems with food access. Hunger continues to be a major problem not just overseas, but also right here in our backyard. 41 million Americans struggle with hunger according to Feeding America.

For our first (hopefully annual) charity project, we have decided to help Foodlink – a local foodbank here in Rochester. Foodlink is a community food resource center and the Feeding America food bank that according to its site serves the counties of Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates. (It has an 89% rating by Charity Navigator, which is great.)

We would love your support on this project so please head over to our fundraiser page and share it with all! Even the smallest amount makes a huge difference to others. So, let’s see what our clinic can do!

Foodlink is a Rochester-based nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger and building healthier communities by addressing both the symptoms and root causes of food insecurity. We serve as the hub of the emergency food system across a 10-county service area. As a leading public health organization, Foodlink administers many programs and initiatives that aim to build the health and wealth of communities.

We provide food assistance through the safe storage and distribution of emergency food to our network of food bank members and community partners. We build healthier communities through innovative programs that create new access points to nutritious foods and empower people to make healthy choices. We drive change through bold career empowerment initiatives and advocacy for a more just, equitable food system.
