If Music Be The Food - October 24, 2021

About This Campaign

"If Music Be the Food..." is a series of benefit concerts which raise awareness and support for the hungry in the local community through the sharing of great music. Our mission also includes teaching music students about the importance of community service via their art. Each concert is a fully grass-roots community event involving professionals, students, and local volunteers in joyful collaboration. We are striving to address nourishment in all of its forms; our bodies need it in the form of food and our souls need it in the form of music and community!

Last season we collected more than $8,320 and would like to surpass that this year!

The Amenda Quartet - David Brickman and Patricia Sunwoo, violins; Melissa Matson, viola, and Mimi Hwang, cello - will open the program with works of Dvořák and Kenji Bunch, followed by Eastman trombonist Mark Kellogg, Christopher Azzara, piano and Jeff Campbell, bass playing a work by Christopher Azzara and other autumn-themed pieces.

Audiences are welcome to attend in person. Masks are required.

Campaign to Support Foodlink

Foodlink is a Rochester-based nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger and building healthier communities by addressing both the symptoms and root causes of food insecurity. We serve as the hub of the emergency food system across a 10-county service area. As a leading public health organization, Foodlink administers many programs and initiatives that aim to build the health and wealth of communities.

We provide food assistance through the safe storage and distribution of emergency food to our network of food bank members and community partners. We build healthier communities through innovative programs that create new access points to nutritious foods and empower people to make healthy choices. We drive change through bold career empowerment initiatives and advocacy for a more just, equitable food system.
