2018 Food for Families: Anchor Challenge logo
Food for Families returns, with our partners at Tops Friendly Markets, WROC-TV, Citizens Bank, and WCMF Radio! Food for Families collects food donations from Tops shoppers for Foodlink, which then distributes the food to its network of agencies serving food-insecure families throughout the Rochester region.

News 8 Sports Director Thad Brown and Chief Meteorologist Stacey Pensgen are competing in the third annual Anchor Challenge -- a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money for the 2018 Food for Families campaign! Check out their personal campaign pages below to make a donation. The campaign ends and a winner will be announced on Dec. 7, during the main Food for Families event day at Tops.

Last year, the Food for Families campaign was able to collect more than 143,000 pounds of food to help our neighbors in need! Financial contributions are also accepted, and last year's event was able to raise more than $11,000.

The campaign features “Little Brown Bags of Hope,” bags of food that are available for purchase at Tops locations through Dec. 15. Shoppers have the option of purchasing a LBBOH for $5, $10 or $20 at the register when they check out, or donate any food or money they wish.

On Dec. 7, Tops will host an all-day celebration that will be broadcast live by WROC-TV and WCMF Radio at two main Tops locations in Greece (3507 Mt. Read Blvd.) and Henrietta (1225 Jefferson Road).
