  • For many in our community, turning a passion for food into a culinary career can be all but impossible for those living in poverty and without access to reliable and affordable childcare and transportation.
Instead of letting those dreams fade for local, aspiring chefs, the Foodlink Career Fellowship  offers a place for people to step into their power, and into a setting that supports them when they fall and cheers them when they have successes.

This year-long program is the only cook apprenticeship in New York State, paying fellows while they are taking classes with the guarantee of a raise when they graduate. Each individual works in the Foodlink Kitchen and Community Cafe and completes an externship with a local employer.

Would you like to support our Fellows? When you donate to the Foodlink Career Fellowship today, you are a part of someone's extraordinary journey.

In Support of Foodlink

Foodlink is a Rochester-based nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger and building healthier communities by addressing both the symptoms and root causes of food insecurity. We serve as the hub of the emergency food system across a 10-county service area. As a leading public health organization, Foodlink administers many programs and initiatives that aim to build the health and wealth of communities.

We provide food assistance through the safe storage and distribution of emergency food to our network of food bank members and community partners. We build healthier communities through innovative programs that create new access points to nutritious foods and empower people to make healthy choices. We drive change through bold career empowerment initiatives and advocacy for a more just, equitable food system.
